Focus and Scope

Aims:
The Journal of Public Administration, STISIPOL Raja Haji aims to provide a leading platform for high-quality, peer-reviewed research in the fields of public administration, government, policy, and social sciences. The journal seeks to advance theoretical, empirical, and practical knowledge that contributes to effective governance, sustainable social development, and the understanding of contemporary societal issues.

Journal of Public Administration, STISIPOL Raja Haji, invites interdisciplinary research that integrates perspectives from political science and sociology into the study of public administration. We are committed to fostering critical insights and high-quality scholarship that are relevant and actionable for academics, policymakers, and practitioners on both a national and global scale.

We particularly welcome studies addressing maritime governance, borderland administration, and regional autonomy, reflecting our unique commitment to advancing public affairs within archipelagic and strategic contexts.

Scope:
Journal of Public Administration, STISIPOL Raja Haji publishes original research, review articles, case studies, and theoretical contributions in the following six key areas:

  • Public Policy and Governance Analysis of the policy cycle (formulation, implementation, and evaluation), collaborative governance, networking in public sectors, and the role of non-state actors in public decision-making.
  • Public Management and Innovation Contemporary approaches to managing public organizations, including Human Resource Management in the public sector, New Public Management (NPM), New Public Service (NPS), and administrative reforms.
  • Digital Government and E-Governance The transformation of public services through Information and Communication Technology (ICT), smart cities, big data analytics in government, and the challenges of digital literacy and cybersecurity in public administration.
  • Administrative Ethics and Accountability Studies on transparency, integrity, anti-corruption measures, public service ethics, and the mechanisms of bureaucratic accountability in democratic societies.
  • Local Government and Regional Autonomy Dynamics of decentralization, rural and urban governance, regional development planning, fiscal federalism, and the management of local public enterprises.
  • Environmental Governance and Public Health Public administration's role in addressing climate change, disaster management, sustainable development goals (SDGs), and the governance of public health systems (including data-driven social welfare policies).
